The Fairfax County General District Court has updated its Administrative Procedures relating to Bankruptcy Dismissals. Please note the new procedure, the text of which follows
2.31 Bankruptcy Dismissals
All filings submitted on a case currently showing a bankruptcy stay must be accompanied by correspondence, with signature and printed name of filer, stating that the bankruptcy has been dismissed or relief has been granted from the bankruptcy stay.
The preferred method is to include a copy of the order dismissing the bankruptcy or granting relief with the above correspondence.
The correspondence should also include the case number, the names of both parties, and the date of the judgment.
The clerk’s office will then update the case reflecting the dismissal of the bankruptcy.
