The Fairfax County General District Court would like to announce that starting February 13, 2017, the DUI Advisement process for DUI defendants who post bond at the time they are served will change as follows:
·         The Recognizance form will direct them to appear in court in 10 calendar days, or the next day the court is open if the 10th calendar day falls on a holiday or weekend.
·         These hearings will be placed on an 8:45 AM Docket in Courtroom 1E.  The only action taken at this hearing will be advisement of the defendant.
·         If defense counsel files appearance with the court, the defendant and counsel will not have to attend this advisement hearing.
·         The first 9:30 court date will not change in format.  The court date can be verified upon filing the notice of appearance, or by checking with the Clerk’s Office or state website.
