Please note the following changes and reminders for procedures in the Fairfax County General District Court:

1.Criminal and Traffic Motions

Beginning Friday, November 1st, all criminal and traffic motions will again be heard at 9:30AM.  GDC is eliminating the 9:00AM motions dockets.  All criminal motions will be in courtroom 2J at 9:30AM.  All traffic motions will be in 1E at 9:30AM, with the exception of motions involving a DWI restricted license which will be heard at 9:30AM in front of the sentencing judge.

 2.Civil Unlawful Detainer Order

The GDC Civil Division’s Unlawful Detainer Case Disposition form for attorneys has changed.  The updated Va. Code § 55.1-1250(C) has replaced Va. Code §55-243(C) or §55-248.34:1(C) under immediate writ of eviction.  In addition, a line for awarding costs for Servicemember Civil Relief Act counsel fees has been added.

All attorneys will be required to use the updated form immediately.  This form can be obtained on the GDC website, www.fairfaxcounty.gov/generaldistrict, or in the Civil Division Clerk’s office, room 211.
