• The Court will no longer docket 9:00 AM motions filed in cases scheduled that day on the preliminary hearing docket. Counsel may present such motions during the scheduled court proceeding.

• All continuance requests on cases scheduled on the preliminary hearing docket must be filed at least two business days prior to the scheduled court date. If necessary, counsel may present the continuance request during court.

In recent weeks, the Court has experienced delays with starting blood docket trials

and/or resolving blood docket cases due to counsel unavailability. Please take note that the blood

docket is a trial docket with a limited number of cases set. Counsel with cases on the blood docket

should be prepared to start their trials when Court begins. The Court requests that Counsel avoid

setting cases in other courtrooms on the date of their blood docket trials. Waiting on Counsel to

conclude matters in other courtrooms is causing unnecessary docket delays.

Out of State Garnishments

When seeking service through the Secretary of the Commonwealth

on an out of state garnishee, please be sure to completely fill in from DC-410 and indicate which

specific subsection Virginia Code § 8.01-328.1(A) ____ applies (see NON-RESIDENCE GROUNDS

REQUIREMENT on page 2 of form). The form has a blank for the subsection to be inserted. The

filing will be rejected if the form is not fully completed.
