Effective August 4, 2025, the Sheriff’s Office will be implementing updated Courthouse screening protocols. Standard security screening will be required for all employees, patrons, and members of the public entering the courthouse’s public entrances.

Standard screening refers to routine procedures used to detect prohibited items and ensure the safety of the courthouse using magnetometers and X-ray baggage scanners. Standard screening will be uniformly implemented at all public courthouse entrances, with each entrance serving a designated purpose as outlined below:

Magnetometer 1 - Main Public Entrance

This entrance is accessible to all individuals entering the Courthouse

Magnetometer 2 (Judicial Dr./ADC Entrance) - Dedicated Attorney Entrance

This entrance is designated for attorneys, approved interpreters, court reporters, and courthouse employees. All individuals entering through this access point will be subject to standard security screening.

Magnetometer 3 (Near Cafeteria) - Courthouse Employee and Law Enforcement Entrance

This entrance is designated for courthouse employees and sworn law enforcement officers. Courthouse employees will undergo standard security screening and sworn law enforcement officers will continue to be exempt from security screening at all courthouse entrances.

This updated screening protocol will standardize security procedures across public courthouse entrances and strengthen courthouse security.
