The FBA Judicial Screening Committee is charged with evaluating candidates seeking appointment to the Fairfax Circuit, General District, and Juvenile & Domestic Relations District Courts.  The nine committee members, recommended by the FBA Nominating Committee and elected by the FBA Board of Directors, serve three-year staggered terms, so each year three new members are appointed.

The FBA Judicial Screening Committee invites all judicial candidates to appear before our committee. Based upon a written application and interview candidates are eligible to receive one of the following ratings.

• Highly Recommended
• Recommended
• Qualified
• Not Found Qualified

Fairfax Circuit Court Judicial Screening Applicants 

The Fairfax Bar Association's Judicial Screening Committee will conduct interviews of applicants for one (1) anticipated Fairfax Circuit Court vacancy.

Pursuant of the Rules of the FBA Judicial Screening Committee (rules updated May 2024), “once the deadline for submission of applications has passed, the names of all judicial screening applicants shall be posted on the FBA website.”
